From the Editor: Graceful Gratitude

As I  prepare for this holiday season, something strikes me as odd. I guess that I have never really thought about how we begin with Thanksgiving, a self explanatory time where we examine all of the blessings in our lives, and promptly move into Christmas, where we are constantly asked what more we “want” in life. And yet, maybe this is not so odd after all. When we take the time to focus on all that we are grateful for, a natural reaction is to share these gifts with others. When I look back on the last year at Dominator Magazine, I am astonished by the amazing individuals who have shared their stories with us. Even though each of them has had a different experience, they all have one thing in common; the desire to educate and assist others.

When our founder, Dominik Hasek, began Dominator Clothing six years ago, his desire was to give Dominators everywhere a clothing line that embodied the empowered lives that they were living. His dream began to take shape shortly after winning the Gold Medal at the Olympic Games. This accomplishment was the product of a lifetime of effort. Through the work of Dominator Clothing and Dominator Magazine, he hopes to inspire and support individuals world wide in their pursuit of “the dream”.

I am personally grateful for so many things. Each day I go to work, excited about the events ahead. My friends and family are the mortar that holds my life together. The women in my life have given me so much. Where Oprah has Gale, I have Andrea; the gift of her friendship has been the anchoring factor in my life for 35 years. My mother has given me the gift of unconditional acceptance. My sister, the gifts of humor, creativity, and generosity. My aunts, are master teachers in the art of living every day with passion and intelligence. My grandmother’s life embodied what it meant to live with class and conviction. And most of all, my daughter has taught me to lighten up. All of these gifts inspire me to give back.

November is a month for graceful gratitude. Revel in time spent with loved ones and find ways to use the gifts that you have been given as blessings to others. We at Dominator Clothing are thankful for you, our readers. We wish you every happiness as this Holiday Season begins.
