Hasek opens first North American Dominator Clothing stores in Michigan!
Detroit, December
14, 2003)-Dominik Hasek has opened the first two North American retail locations
of his successful European clothing company, Dominator Clothing. The first Dominator
Clothing store is located at 286 West Maple Road in Birmingham, Michigan. The
second opened in mid-December at 12 Oaks Mall in Novi, Michigan. Hasek and his
company are extremely pleased to let Detroit and Michigan area residents be the
first in North America to have access to the clothing line.
"Although the company bears my nickname, and a lot of people will associate my
hockey career with it because of this, Dominator Clothing is really about making
great quality clothes for active people of all kinds, and encouraging them to
challenge themselves with new goals," said Hasek from Birmingham. "You can be
12 years old or a 55-year-old grandmother. We are all Dominators in one way or
another for what we try to achieve."
Dominator Clothing, started five years ago in the Czech Republic, has become something
of a European clothing phenomenon in Hasek's home country. Dominator Clothing
CEO for North America, Dale Johnson, likes their chances in North America, too.
And not just because Hasek has now returned to the Red Wings.
"Dominik's return
to the NHL will certainly help interest and sales," said Johnson from Detroit.
"But we have been developing our mayketing plan and site selection for North America
for over a year and a half, well before Dominik ever thought he might return to
the NHL. Our plan has always been to have the clothing line stand on its own merits."
Aside from high-quality workout and casual wear, what makes Dominator Clothing
stand out as even more special is its focus on the female consumer and the community
mindedness that drives the company.
"What makes us special is more than the quality of our clothes," said Johnson.
"It is also the quality of our commitment. Our stores will be tailored to the
needs of female customers, with a wide selection of styles, an emphasis on a high
level of customer service, and a knowledgeable and educated staff who seek to
help empower our customers to set and achieve new goals.
"Our mission is also
to be actively involved in building stronger communities wherever Dominator has
an employee or retail presence, by supporting local programs that seek to encourage
people to improve their lives, or the lives of people around them."
Dominator Clothing will also be available to the public in November through the
company's online store at dominatorclothing.com. There people will not only be
able to shop for women's, men's and kids clothes and accessories, but they will
be able to view and contribute stories and columns at Dominator Magazine, which
has aspirations to become an offline magazine as well in the coming year.
"Our retail presence online is about making it very, very easy for people to shop.
We've looked very carefully at what online shoppers are looking for in a website
before we designed dominatorclothing.com. People will be able to have a very friendly
shopping experience, and they will get unique content within Dominator Magazine.
New issues will include professional training tips, fashion advice and inspirational
stories from customers that have overcome obstacles in life and have achieved
their goals ."
Fans of Hasek won't be completely shut out of seeing him around the stores or
showing up online now and again. "Although my main focus this year is returning
to the NHL and contributing to the success of my team, off ice I will be helping
Dominator Clothing win in the retail arena. Dominator strives to deliver quality
in everything we do. And I am committed to our success."
